Join us for the 7th Annual Corporate Counsel Institute! This will be a completely virtual event, featuring two sessions per day over the course of 3 consecutive days. Whether you are looking to learn more about a growing and important field or are already a seasoned practitioner, the Institute aims to offer you something interesting.

2:00 pm - 3:00 pm   How the Gig Economy Continues to Affect Employment Law (1.0 Standard)

Updates in the law, including California AB 5 / Proposition 22 and US Department of Labor regulations are changing how workers are classified and who is an “employee.” This presentation will explore these recent updates and compare them to how other states and the IRS view the employment relationship. Case studies will look at enforcement and the law to explain consequences for classification or misclassification of workers as employees or independent contractors.
