This program is hosted by the
RCBA New Lawyers Section in conjunction with Southern Minneosta
Regional Legal Services (SMRLS).
Join the RCBA New Lawyers for their annual volunteer event in March.
This year we are switching to a volunteer event more related to the legal
community, providing pro bono legal advice to low income clients seeking
eviction expungements. The COVID-19 pandemic and the ensuing economic crisis
have impacted low income Minnesotans in large numbers. Helping someone expunge
an eviction from their records can make a big difference in their life, helping
them find safe and affordable housing.
Attend the TRAINING on March
11th at 5pm to learn the basics of eviction expungements, so you are
ready to provide advice to clients the following week at the clinic. REGISTER
HERE. You must attend the TRAINING on March 11 to participate
in the clinic.
Attend
the CLINIC on March 18th at
1pm to assist individuals with their eviction expungement case
preparation, including preparing the petition, and discussing the process. Please hit the REGISTER button above
to sign up. Please register for
both events.
Clients will represent themselves in court.
SMRLS will provide the
training on March 11th and SMRLS will recruit clients for the March 18th
Clinic.
