Community Service Event | My Very Own Bed

Event Description

You can be a part of our virtual or in-person December 17 drop-off event to help provide a good night's rest to kids who need it!

Imagine sleeping on a hard, cold floor each night. Unfortunately, that is the reality for far too many children in our community. For a child, a bed is more than a piece of furniture. It’s a place to bounce, to launch superhero flights, and ultimately a comfortable place to snuggle under the covers for a good night’s rest. Adequate sleep directly impacts kids’ physical and mental health and enhances a child's focus and learning at school. Children also benefit from having a place to call their own; it increases their responsibility and independence.

You can be a part of providing a comfortable bed to kids who need them! The Civil Litigation Section is committed to finding ways in which it can serve others and we are partnering with My Very Own Bed , a local non-profit that provides new beds and linens to children in families who have recently moved out of homelessness into more stable housing in the Twin Cities.

Two Ways to Serve:
1)Drop off: Deliver your donation to the drop box located in the front of the law firm Soule & Stull at 8 West 43rd Street, Minneapolis MN 55409 on Thursday, December 17 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. We'll provide a cookie and some hot cocoa for your drive home!

2)Virtual Donation (Shop and donate online): Then use the Virtual Donation Hub at bit.ly/bedding4kids to purchase and then donate items online. This allows you to shop from Wish Lists at Amazon, Walmart, Macy's and Target, and having the items shipped directly to our office. Please be sure to add "MSBA Civil Litigation Council" as a note in your order so that the donation is recorded on behalf of our organization! Shop and donate online through Thursday, December 17 .

We are collecting NEW, twin-sized:
• Mattress pads
• Sheets
• Blankets or comforters

And NEW:
• Pillows
• Small stuffed animal
• Books (Gently-used are ok)
