Lobbying 101: Getting Started

Between a global pandemic, social unrest, and a recession, many of us have asked, "What Can I Do?" How can we address these current issues in a manner that creates systemic, lasting change? Taking legislative action is often the best way to create lasting change. However, many individuals and organizations do not regularly engage in the lobbying efforts necessary to develop support for legislation. If you do not understand the importance of lobbying or do not know how to get started, this program is for you. It will teach you the fundamentals, including building a strategy, communicating, and how to persuade legislators. We hope you will join us to learn how lobbying can become an effective tool in your arsenal.

Presenters:

Kevion joined Goff Public from Greeley, Colorado, where he served as a university student body president; campaign manager for a city council race; and legislative intern for Colorado State Representative Dave Young, specializing in state budget issues.
