There will be a brief Banckruptcy Section meeting
prior to the CLE.
This presentation will cover how the Offer in
Compromise (“OIC”) process can serve as an alternative to filing bankruptcy when
resolving outstanding SBA loan debt. We will discuss the OIC process in
general and how to effectively represent debtors and creditors through this
process. In addition, we will highlight what to consider when seeking to
liquidate or organize SBA debt through a bankruptcy proceeding, without placing
the lender’s SBA guarantee in jeopardy.
