Program:
The ‘Tiger King’
Netflix series features several roadside zoos that house big cats and other wild
animals in substandard conditions. While the series sensationalized the
personalities of the zoos’ owners (one of whom is in prison for killing five
tigers and committing other crimes), this webinar will spotlight what ‘Tiger
King’ didn’t reveal- the tragedy facing captive big cats in the United States.
National and local experts will provide a glimpse behind the scenes- into cub
petting, private ownership, federal and state laws, pending legislation, and
stories of real-life rescues. There will be time for Q&A.
