The Section Annual Meeting and Officer Elections will be held at this meeting.  All section members are encouraged to attend.

The first permanent federal statute for bankruptcy relief was the Bankruptcy Act of 1898.  Its enactment and its early administration in Minnesota were handled by one prominent local politician and an interesting group of judges and referees.  In the law they applied and the problems they faced, there are striking similarities with the present—and large differences from it.
