Program:
An
overview of Minnesota’s medical cannabis program will be provided and include who is eligible, how
to register, what conditions qualify, and what medications are available. The State Health
Dept. Director at the Office of Medical Cannabis, Chris Tholkes,
will also provide updates on patient experience with the program, and patient
and provider participation data. Lastly, Chris will set the stage for the
current landscape in Minnesota around cannabis and what the future may hold for
the program. Presenter Ranelle Leier will discuss the current state of FDA
regulation of dietary supplements and conventional food products containing
cannabis and cannabis-derived compounds, including cannabidiol (CBD).
Ranelle will also discuss the State of Minnesota’s recent law regarding the sale
of certain CBD products, effective January 1, 2020.
