Settling a family law case out of court
can be difficult when there is domestic violence. The dynamics of
domestic violence can conflict with the purpose of mediation. Rana
Alexander, Esq. of Standpoint will discuss how domestic violence
affects alternative dispute resolution processes and the attorney’s role in the proceedings. She
will also cover how attorneys can educate judges on why alternative dispute
resolution is not always beneficial to the parties in cases where there has
been domestic violence.
Registration will begin at 11:30 am,
the CLE program will run from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
