A Discussion With Mike Whelan - Author of Lawyer Forward

Event Description

*  WEBCAST ONLY PRESENTATION *

Co-Sponsored by the Practice Management & Marketing Section and the Solo & Small Firm Section

In the late nineteenth century, law was taught as a science and lawyers treated like machines to be managed. That's not unique to us—"scientific management" was all the rage at the time of Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse—but other industries have moved beyond that view. It's time for us to embrace a vision of lawyer competence built on expertise, connectedness, collaboration, and self-acceptance. In this presentation, Mike Whelan shares stories that inspire and explain shifts in the legal industry that we must respond to. It is a message of hope.
