Event Description
Due to the current situation, this program is
REMOTE-ONLY participation. There will be NO in-person attendance.
Deadline to Register: May 13,
2020
This event is being co-sponsored by the LegalCORPS organization.
A 2018 Stanford study found
Hispanic-owned businesses contributed about $500 billion to the US economy in
annual sales. Over the past decade, the number of Hispanic business owners grew
34%, compared to 1% for all business owners in the
US.
Are you
ready to represent Hispanic businesses and partake in the boom?
Think back to the most complicated case you ever handled.
Now imagine that same case with an extra layer of linguistic and cultural
differences between you and the client--or the other parties.
Any case can grow more difficult when the lawyer is not on
the same page with their client. Language and cultural differences are two big
obstacles. If you don't speak Spanish, an interpreter can help in your
representation. But cultural differences still remain.
Join us in learning how to best serve Hispanic business
owners by using culture for a successful representation. Attorney Inti Martínez-Alemán
regularly represents clients in Latin America and in the United States. Knowing
both cultures and legal systems places Inti in a privileged position to share
with you how to best represent Hispanic business
owners.
