Description:
What happens when your
client’s estate planning hasn’t kept up with your client’s relationship
status? Join Mason & Helmers probate litigators Emily Valentine-Grimm
and Karin Ciano for a hair-raising journey to the intersection of Probate Place
and Family Way. We’ll discuss how old prenups create new pitfalls; how
divorce affects existing beneficiary designations; how to advise clients on the
elective share and other spousal rights; and whether family court or probate
court is the right place to resolve your client’s dispute. All this plus
tips on drafting prenup language that will waive a future spouse’s right to
statutory exempt property!
Registration and lunch will begin at 11:30 am,
the CLE program will run from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Lunch is included in your
registration.LUNCH: We will provide a selection
of sandwiches. For dietary restrictions or a vegetarian lunch, choose the
appropriate selection on the registration screen.

Room is on the street level, just inside the building entrance at the corner of
Fifth and Minnesota Streets in downtown St. Paul. The building address is 332
