Judge Carruthers and
Referee Skibbie will offer perspectives from the bench on a two-year mediation
pilot project currently underway in Hennepin County. The project encourages
mediation as an option for high-conflict guardianship and conservatorship cases.
While the pilot project operates in Hennepin County, elder law attorneys may
employ its lessons in practice throughout the state.
The CLE will
address:
• Unique aspects of using mediation in guardianship and
conservatorship cases
• Why attorneys practicing in elder law may or may
not choose to advise mediation as an option for their clients’ high-conflict
guardianship and conservatorship cases
Participants are encouraged to bring their own
lunch. Lunch will not be provided.
