In today's competitive marketplace, identifying cultural
bias and bridging cultural and communication gaps can mean the difference between success and failure. Cultural competency is the
key for this century to building virtual teams that work,
exceeding client expectations, and achieving business goals faster
and with long-term success. This session will help you learn how to: build
profitable, long-term relationships with anyone around the world, identify potential
cultural bias and work towards eliminating cultural bias, communicate efficiently across
cultural and language barriers, leverage current best practices to increase virtual team
effectiveness, acquire practical tips to maximize productivity and minimize costs when
working with diverse partners and clients.

Mary Beth Lamb has helped business people in more than 20 industries on five
continents achieve peak performance and maximize return on worldwide business
investment by developing high performing virtual teams and global leaders,
cultural competency, and effective international communication skills.
She teaches at three graduate schools, co-authored two books, and is a
frequent speaker and media commentator on global management and cross-border
teaming. Lamb co-founded and ran three successful global communications
businesses in Europe and the United States.
For the last 27
years Lamb has worked with globals legal teams to :
• conduct cultural due
diligence on worldwide mergers and acquisitions
• prepare for complex
cross-cultural negotiations
• develop ethical effective global leaders
and high performing virtual teams.
Lamb volunteers with Twin Cities
immersion language schools and is a members of several intercultural
communications professional associations.
