Social Hour following the program. Registration will start at 3:00 pm, the

The DOJ and FTC's Antitrust Guidance for
Human Resource Professionals in October 2016 alerted HR professionals that “an
agreement among competing employers to limit or fix the terms of employment for
potential hires may violate the antitrust laws if the agreement constrains
individual firm decisions.” These guidelines have resulted in significant
state franchise enforcement and civil class actions involving clauses in
franchise agreements prohibiting one franchisee from soliciting or hiring
another franchisee in that franchise system. At the forefront of state
enforcement has been the Washington State Attorney General's Office. This
program features Eric Newman, Chief Litigation Counsel, Antitrust Division,
Washington State Office of the Attorney General and will address anti-poaching
agreements in general and in the franchise context specifically.
The annual Section Social will follow at
5:00 pm.
