This presentation will explore the core elements of MN
mechanic’s lien law: the requirements to create a lien and perfect a lien to
protect a contractor’s right to payment; lien priority; lien foreclosure;
resolution/satisfaction; the impact of a lien on property title; the import of
proper lien practices (safeguarding against slander of title); what
the title company requires to release the lien; and whether/how liens expire; and practical
tips for contractors to safeguard their right to a lien.
Registration, breakfast and networking will be from
7:30-8:00 am, and the CLE presentation will be from 8:00-9:00 am.
