A panel of four court-certified language interpreters, two of
whom are also practicing attorneys, will provide insights into the art and challenges
of communicating effectively through interpreters with people who do not speak
or understand English and whose experience with the American legal system
is influenced by their own cultural background. This program will seek to eliminate
the bias that attorneys may have when practicing law with
persons who use interpreters.
This program is co-presented by the MSBA Criminal Law
Section and the Solo & Small Firm Section. Registration will begin at 3:45
pm. Snacks and beverages will be available.
