will meet at 11:30 am, followed by lunch and the CLE at
noon.
From data protection to drones, and unique challenges with
software license agreements, this presentation will discuss the ins-and-outs of
technology contracts and the unique challenges faced by the public sector.
This presentation is not only for those with public sector clients, but those
looking for another perspective and dialogue on emerging technology
issues.

Justin B.
Kaufman, Assistant Commissioner, Minnesota IT Services
Justin Kaufman serves as
Assistant Commissioner for Minnesota IT Services. In his role, Justin works to
leverage MNIT's business operations teams to build value for the State of
Minnesota and support the delivery of efficient and effective IT
solutions.
Prior to joining MNIT,
Justin worked with the Department of Administration's Office of State
Procurement for 11 years. In that role, Justin focused on contract negotiations,
fair and open competition in the procurement process, and oversight of executive
branch professional and technical contracts. Here he negotiated many of the
state's largest contracts and contract settlements and presented locally,
nationally, and internationally on procurement-related topics.
Justin is a graduate of
Marquette University, with majors in political science and international
affairs, and holds a law degree from William Mitchell College of Law. He
currently serves as an adjunct faculty member at Mitchell Hamline School of Law
and is a guest lecturer for the George Washington University Law
School.
