This session will provide an overview of PBMs and the
central role they play in the drug distribution system in the United States.
The panel will discuss a PBM’s influence on pharmacy cost
management and drug prices, including industry perspective on some of the key
drug pricing policy and regulatory changes currently under consideration by the
Trump Administration. We also will explore other significant legal and
policy matters impacting PBMs today and possible implications to other
constituents in the health care system, such as a PBM’s relationships with
health plans, pharmacies and drug manufacturers and the increasing state
regulation of PBMs.
