Pharmacy Benefit Managers: What is a PBM and what do they do?

Event Description

Deadline to Register: Tuesday, October 16, 2018

Breakfast and registration will start at 7:30 a.m.  The CLE program will begin at 8:00 a.m.

Please note the date CHANGE TO THURSDAY for October's CLE to accommodate the MEA weekend travels.

This session will provide an overview of PBMs and the central role they play in the drug distribution system in the United States.

The panel will discuss a PBM’s influence on pharmacy cost management and drug prices, including industry perspective on some of the key drug pricing policy and regulatory changes currently under consideration by the Trump Administration.  We also will explore other significant legal and policy matters impacting PBMs today and possible implications to other constituents in the health care system, such as a PBM’s relationships with health plans, pharmacies and drug manufacturers and the increasing state regulation of PBMs.
