Program
Description:
Abuse, neglect and exploitation of seniors has made
headlines and recently grabbed the attention of the governor and legislature in
MN. An elder law attorney and a provider attorney will address the
intersection between health law and elder law from a legal and ethical
perspective. Both will review the current and proposed laws to protect
vulnerable adults, and both will show how advising providers regarding how to
implement the laws protects the provider client from liability and the seniors
the provider serves. Case scenarios will be discussed, and best practices
will be recommended from an ethical and legal standpoint.
