Program
Description:
The Consumer Litigation Section is hosting an introduction
series on Consumer Law at the local law schools within the Twin Cities. During
these sessions, law students will receive an overview of the potential practice
area and career paths in studying consumer litigation, including perspectives
from both the plaintiff and defendant. Presenters will go over the nature of
claims asserted by consumers and against consumers with a shallow dive into
consumer protection statutes (e.g., FDCPA, FCRA, etc.). Another point of
discussion are the attorney fees provision contained within most consumer
protection statutes.
This is a great opportunity for law students to learn
about Consumer Law and meet current professionals in the field as well as for
members to connect with students.
