Commissioner Cynthia L. Bauerly will discuss 2017
Minnesota tax legislation and provide an update on Department of Revenue
activities, audits, enforcement actions, initiatives, personnel changes, and
other items of interest to the tax community. Chief Judge Turner will discuss
current issues affecting the Minnesota Tax Court. Ferdinand S. Hogroian will
give a national update on state tax policy trends. Thomas R. Wilhelmy and Thomas
F. Pursell will discuss property tax developments. John Schmittdiel will discuss
IRS counsel issues. Michael Goodwin will discuss recent Minnesota tax
litigation.
The Seminar will be followed
by a question and answer session and will conclude with a one-hour
cocktail party (hosted bar and complimentary hors d'oeuvres).
Notice of Annual Meeting: The Tax Section will also hold its Annual Meeting at 2PM to elect
officers and council members for the 2017-2018 bar year and to conduct other business as
needed. The Annual meeting will also be held at the DoubleTree Hotel (you
will be directed to a conference room when you arrive).
