Chevron U.S.A., Inc. v. Natural Resources
Defense Council, Inc. established rules for judicial review of agency
interpretations of statutes. The Supreme Court held that courts should defer to
agency interpretations of such statutes unless they are unreasonable. Professor
Hickman will review the doctrine of administrative deference as articulated in
Chevron and give an update on recent developments around the
doctrine.
Lunch and registration will begin at 11:45 a.m. The program will begin at
12:00 p.m.
