Keys for ADR Neutrals to Improve Their Emotional Intelligence

Event Description

Deadline to Register: January 8, 2017

Please note that the Section Business Meeting starts at 12 noon and the CLE is at 12:15 pm.

Lunch is brown bag. Refreshments will be provided, however.

It is a well-known fact that emotional intelligence (EQ) is critical to your success as an ADR Neutral. EQ is the key to understanding yourself, managing your emotions, understanding others, and managing your relationships. A high EQ helps you predict, manage, and adapt to many different situations, especially the challenging ones. In this presentation, you will learn the keys to strengthen your emotional intelligence, the hurdles that can get in the way, and how best to deal with someone who demonstrates a low EQ. This presentation mainly draws from Gestalt and cognitive psychology and from Daniel Goleman’s insights into EQ to address these topics. You will leave with specific insights and techniques that you can immediately apply in your ADR practice.
