2019 HCBA Annual Meeting to Kick Off 100th Anniversary Celebrations

MINNEAPOLIS—The Hennepin County Bar Association will celebrate its 100th anniversary at its Annual Meeting on May 30 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Minneapolis Downtown. The meeting will kick off a year of celebrations for the HCBA, which will include historical-themed CLEs, special articles in the Hennepin Lawyer magazine, and unique content from the association’s archives on social media.

The HCBA will also welcome its 101st president, Jeffrey Baill. Baill will receive the ceremonial leadership gavel from current HCBA president, Adine S. Momoh. He will begin his term on July 1, 2019. 

Ten attorney members will also be recognized at the meeting with 2019 HCBA Excellence Awards. The HCBA selected nine members for their work from among six different categories, and one member for career contributions to the profession. Congratulations to:

Jess Birken (Birken Law) for Advancing Innovation in the Profession
Michael Boulette (Barnes & Thornburg) for Providing Pro Bono Service 
Kendra Brodin (Briggs and Morgan) for Service to the Association/Foundation
Sybil L. Dunlop (Greene Espel) for Advancing Diversity & Inclusion
Pamela Hoopes (Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid/Minnesota Disability Law Center) for Career Contributions to the Profession
Loan T. Huynh (Fredrikson & Byron) for Advancing Diversity & Inclusion
Cynthia Y. Lee (Faegre Baker Daniels) for Advancing Diversity & Inclusion
Lisa Lodin Peralta (Peralta Appellate Law) for Advancing Diversity & Inclusion
Gloria Stamps-Smith (Hennepin County Attorney’s Office) for Mentoring in the Profession.
