Adine S. Momoh Begins Milestone Presidency at HCBA

Minneapolis: -- Adine S. Momoh becomes the 100th president of the Hennepin County Bar Association (HCBA) on July 1. Momoh is a partner at Stinson Leonard Street, where she practices in the areas of securities and banking litigation, estates and trust litigation, and creditors’ rights and bankruptcy. She represents clients in both state and federal courts around the country.  She will be the first black woman and the youngest attorney to serve as president of the HCBA.

Momoh is an accomplished leader and trial attorney who has been recognized nationally and locally for her professional achievements, community involvement and public service. Most notably, in 2018, she was named a 40 Under 40 honoree by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. In 2016, she was selected as a Blackshear Presidential Fellow by the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges. She was also a finalist for the American Bar Association’s National Outstanding New Lawyer of the Year Award in 2014.

Locally, Momoh also serves on the boards of the Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers, the Federal Bar Association’s Minnesota Chapter, and The Saint Paul and Minnesota Community Foundations.  She also serves in leadership capacities for the Federal Bar Association (national), Minnesota Women Lawyers, and International Women’s Insolvency and Reorganization Confederation–Minnesota Network.

Momoh graduated summa cum laude from the University of St. Thomas and magna cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law.  She previously served as a federal judicial law clerk to the Hon. Jeanne J. Graham of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.

Serving with Momoh in the HCBA leadership for the coming year is the executive committee, including newly elected HCBA Secretary Brandon E. Vaughn (Robins Kaplan), who begins the five-year leadership track (to serve as president for 2021-22).
