About Siegel Brill

Founded in the 1940s, Siegel Brill is a 15-attorney general practice law firm located at 100 Washington Square in downtown Minneapolis.

Primary Areas of Practice

We provide legal services in all aspects of business, real estate, tax, estate planning, commercial law, financing, litigation and all types of catastrophic personal injury including wrongful death, medical malpractice and aviation accidents.

Training Provided to Summer Associates

Summer Associates are assigned a mentor who ensures that the summer is a rich experience and tailored as much as possible to the Summer Associate’s interests.  A Summer Associate can expect regular feedback on work assignments, the chance to work with each of the firm’s attorneys during the course of the summer, and opportunities to attend professional functions such as court proceedings, depositions, client meetings, and real estate closings.

Pro Bono/Community Involvement

The firm’s pro bono policy encourages all Siegel Brill attorneys to devote a portion of their time and professional services to pro bono matters. We see pro bono representation is an essential element of every attorney’s professional and ethical responsibility. Associates receive credit of up to 50 pro bono hours per year towards their annual billing goals.

Siegel Brill attorneys are also active in the community, as leaders in the legal profession (including past presidents of the Minnesota State and Hennepin County Bar Associations) as well as charitable, civic, and religious organizations.

Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

We firmly believe that the legal profession, our firm, and our clients benefit from increased diversity in all levels and positions in the profession.  As a firm, we are actively working to increase diversity in our office. In 2021 we hired a summer associate through the Minority Fellowship Program at the University of Minnesota Law School and have continued these efforts by participating in the 1L Diversity Clerkship program since 2022.

Summer Associate/Clerkship Description

Consistent with the breadth of the Firm’s practice areas, the Summer Associate can expect a wide variety of assignments and experiences.  Typical litigation assignments include writing research memos and drafting pleadings and discovery requests.  Assignments from business and real estate attorneys include legal research, due diligence and assisting with contract drafting.

Successful Candidate Qualities

In addition to solid research and writing skills, the successful candidate will have excellent communications skills and demonstrate a genuine interest in working in a general practice firm serving a client base ranging from individuals to medium-sized businesses.

Salary and Benefits

The position pays $25 per hour.
