Minnesota's End-of-Life Option Act - Understanding Current Legislative Efforts

Event Description

Remote Only Event.

The End-of-Life Option Act (EOLOA) has been presented to the Minnesota legislature several times.  While it has not passed, this session prompted significant discussion. Join the sponsor of last session's bill, Representative Mike Frieberg, as he provides insight into the language of the EOLOA, its impacts on options for clients, and next steps.

The Elder Law Section has taken no position on whether MAID [medical aid in dying] should be legal or legalized (and does not have plans to take a position). The CLE is intended to keep our membership informed about emerging legal issues affecting older clients. As elder law attorneys, we have a responsibility to understand laws that may affect our clients, even laws to which we may individually have moral or theological objections.

Presenter:
Representative Mike Freiberg, representing District 43B in the Minnesota House
