Event Description
Remote Only Event
In their book, Beyond Reason: Using Emotions as you
Negotiate, Daniel Shapiro and Roger Fisher of the Harvard Program on Negotiation
provide advice on using five emotional needs (appreciation, affiliation,
autonomy, status, and role) that they term core concerns to turn disagreements
into opportunities for mutual gains. Join us for a roundtable discussion about
how mediators can use the core concerns as a lens to better understand the
underlying concerns driving the parties
conflict and as a lever to help the parties
experience more positive emotions and be more willing to work with one
another.
