CLE Program Description:

Recent legislation has shifted the human services landscape creating three agencies to serve the people of Minnesota. Where there used to be the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS), there is now DHS, the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) and effective July 1, 2025, the Department of Direct Care and Treatment (DDCT). Join this session to hear from DHS Commissioner Jodi Harpstead, and other State agency and legal leaders about how human services are organized across the three agencies. Topics covered will include key law changes, the OIG function, DCT’s new organizational structure, civil commitments, challenges overcome during the separation and the opportunities that lie ahead for better serving the people of Minnesota.
