Join Bill
Wernz, author of Minnesota Legal Ethics, as he introduces you to
the 14th edition of this treatise. He will share sources not found elsewhere, including
issues decided in private discipline proceedings. He will also show you
how to use the almost 1700-page treatise efficiently to find authoritative answers to important
ethics questions.
Bring your ethics questions and Bill
will answer them in real time, using the
treatise.

Speaker:
Bill Wernz consults and testifies as an expert in legal
ethics. He served as Chair of the Board on Judicial Standards in 2015 and 2016
and served as a Board member from 2011 to 2019. He was Ethics Partner and a
member of the Trial Department at Dorsey & Whitney LLP in Minneapolis
1992-2009. He practiced in the areas of attorney ethics, malpractice and
fiduciary law. From 1985 to 1992 Mr. Wernz was the Director of the Minnesota
Lawyers Board. In 1998-99 he was the president of the Association of
Professional Responsibility Lawyers, a nationwide group of over 200 lawyers. Mr.
Wernz has received numerous awards for his work and has been an adjunct
professor, teaching legal ethics, at the University of Minnesota
and William Mitchell College of Law.
