The Copyright Alternatives in Small-Claims Enforcement
Act of 2020 (or CASE Act) authorized the formation of the Copyright Claims
Board, with the goal of providing litigants with an efficient,
cost-effective, and user-friendly option to resolve certain copyright disputes valued at
$30,000 or less. The new tribunal began accepting claims in June 2022. Dan Booth, one
of the Board’s staff attorneys, will provide his perspectives on the Board’s
progress and activities over the first year of its existence.
