MARCH Hybrid Event: Remote and In-Person Options

Co-Sponsored by the MSBA Alternative Dispute Resolution Section and Mitchell Hamline School of Law - Alternative Dispute Resolution Society.

Please note that the ADR Section Business Meeting will start earlier for in-person introductions, and the CLE program follows immediately by 12 Noon. Join us for the Networking Social following the program.

In-Person* Option - see bottom details: if you register to attend in-person, you will be included on the social count.

In this lively panel discussion, presenters will talk candidly about their experiences both as attorneys and as mediators working to resolve legal disputes alleging discrimination on the bases of race, gender, economic status, creed, color, religion, national origin, disability, age or sexual orientation in employment, education, housing, and public service and accommodation settings.  Panelists will address how they have learned to challenge their own biases through their work with parties in discrimination cases through the Minnesota Department of Human Rights, while maintaining the ethical standards of their mediation practices – specifically neutrality and confidentiality.

This session addresses diversity, equity, inclusion by directly educating attorneys and attendees in identifying and eliminating from the legal profession and from the practice of law biases against persons because of race, gender, economic status, creed, color, religion, national origin, disability, age or sexual orientation.
