This virtual event will feature a breakout room
session with experienced attorneys. They'll share tips and
recommendations, insights and advice on getting started
on the right track. Registrants will get a follow up email
to choose a group of attorneys to meet with based on
practice area and setting.

Kendra
Brodin | Chief Attorney Development Officer | Taft
Stettinius & Hollister LLP
Kendra Brodin is the Chief Attorney Development Officer at Taft
Stettinius & Hollister LLP where she focuses on the holistic development
of the firm's lawyers at all levels, including associate training and
well-being initiatives. Kendra earned her law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School,
cum laude, and
obtained her master’s degree in social
work from the University of Pennsylvania. Kendra brings a depth of professional experience in lawyer recruiting,
professional and business development, and diversity in the legal profession.
Prior to the combination between Taft and
Briggs and Morgan, Kendra was Briggs' director of lawyer talent and co-chair of
the recruiting and associate evaluation committees. Before joining Briggs,
Kendra served in roles such as client development manager at a leading
intellectual property law firm, executive director of a top legal recruiting
firm, and director of a law school career and professional development office.
Kendra founded and ran a successful coaching and consulting practice for several
years, providing coaching, training, and consulting services focused on career,
personal, and professional development for attorneys. Kendra also practiced law
as a litigation attorney.
Kendra is a former president of Minnesota
Women Lawyers, is the co-founder and chairperson of the Institute for Leadership
in the Legal Profession signature program of the Hennepin County Bar
Association, has held a variety of leadership positions with the Minnesota State
Bar Association, and is involved with both the National Association of Law
Placement and the Professional Development Consortium.
Phyllis Welsh | Founder | Red Fox Social
Phyllis likes to say that she was at the forefront of the social media
marketing boom. While in law school, she interned at TOMS as their social media
intern and fell in love with the way that it allowed companies to connect and
engage with their customers. Since then, she has spent the past ten years
working with non-profits, startups and Fortune 100 companies as a social media
strategist. Her expertise lies in enabling businesses and empowering leaders and
employees in their use of social media, whether as a business strategy or as
professional brand
strategy.
Kyle Willems | Chair, New Lawyers
Section | Attorney, Bassforde Remele
Kyle focuses his practice in
the areas of construction, real estate, product liability, fire/explosion,
general liability, and tort litigation. In addition, he represents clients in
medical malpractice matters.
He is an experienced litigator who has
significant experience representing both individuals and companies during the
course of litigation, and at mediation, arbitration, trial, and on appeal. Kyle
recently obtained a substantial jury verdict in favor of his client in an
insurance subrogation action and got a discrimination lawsuit dismissed against
his client on summary judgment in federal court. He was also recently named a
2019 Up & Coming Attorney by Minnesota Lawyer.
