The Role of Domestic Violence in Alternative Dispute Resolution

Settling a family law case out of court can be difficult when there is domestic violence. The dynamics of domestic violence can conflict with the purpose of mediation. Rana Alexander, Esq. of Standpoint will discuss how domestic violence affects alternative dispute resolution processes and the attorney’s role in the proceedings. She will also cover how attorneys can educate judges on why alternative dispute resolution is not always beneficial to the parties in cases where there has been domestic violence.
