Update on the progress of the
work of the Taskforce on the Legal Paraprofessional Pilot Project, charged with developing
a pilot program allowing a limited expanded scope for paraprofessionals (under
lawyer supervision) in one or more of three areas: housing law,
family law, and creditor-debtor law. Justice Thissen would like to
engage in a discussion with lawyers about the direction of the pilot
program, about both concerns and hopes for the idea.
