Event Description
Deadline to Register: October 16,
2018
Persons convicted of a crime are
generally exposed to a number of legal penalties and disabilities that remain
with them long after they have fully served the sentence, even if the record is
expunged. This CLE will cover the criminal records landscape including what
records exist, where they are located, and how are they accessed. Similarly,
this presentation will provide an overview of the expungement statute, the
changes to the law since the statute was revised, as well
as a review of the process of obtaining an expungement. At the core,
the presentation will focus on the common collateral consequences that
result from these records.
