9:30 - 10:30 AM Data Practices &
Body Cameras
One of the most regulated types of data in the Minnesota
Government Data Practices Act (MGDPA) is body worn camera (BWC) data.
MGDPA compliance decisions surrounding BWCs are often interwoven with litigation
obligations and resource management, media publication, public sentiment, and
data subject rights, which can make for an opaque path towards managing or
requesting BWC data. During this presentation the speaker will address
these issues with a review of pertinent MGDPA sections and case law from a
litigation perspective, and then analyze real world scenarios involving BWC data
with audience involved hypotheticals.
