Deadline to Register: April
11th
The construction industry has a reputation. SNL does skits of workers
in hard hats and protective vests catcalling women as they walk down the
street. The participation rates of women and minorities in the
construction industry are incredibly low. As the Minnesota Department of
Human Rights continues to raise already tough participation rates for state
work, what is it really like to be in the construction industry as a
woman? What happens? What does that mean when we help construction
clients obtain public work? How should our advocacy change? Hear
from women in the industry what their experiences have been and what can we, as
advocates in the industry, do to improve working
conditions.
