BROWN BAG LUNCH
Estate administration encompasses the entire process of post-death administration, whether a probate is required or not. Both probate and non-probate procedures will be discussed in this program. Many non-lawyers find the word "probate" a bit scary, and the process mysterious. But it should not be a mystery for you when clients seek your help. The basic questions addressed are: whether probate is needed in a particular situation, formal versus informal administration, supervised or unsupervised, and probate alternatives.
Jill Sauber will share her insights about the process
based on her extensive practice in this area. Her discussion will give you
confidence that you can handle a potential client's call and competently handle
the estate administration. Jill will share tools and templates from the mndocs
document assembly system so you do not have to re-invent the wheel! Templates in
a document assembly system can help ensure that you have addressed all necessary
issues, they help with consistent formatting for filing, and allow you to avoid
drafting errors inherent when you use "copy-and-paste".

Jill Sauber loves her work! Her entire professional career has focused on death, dying, and preplanning. She practices at Chestnut Cambronne PA in the area of elder law, with an emphasis on helping guide clients through estate planning and administration (probate), government benefits, and long-term planning and asset protection. She earned her J.D. from the University of St. Thomas School of Law in 2013 and was admitted to the bar the same year. She is an enthusiastic and frequent volunteer, serving on the MSBA's Elder Law Governing Council and doing pro bono work in the Wills for Heroes program and Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans clinics.
