Deadline to Register: August 15, 2017
Lunch will be provided.
Registration and lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m. The
program will begin at 12 noon.
Starting tax year 2016, the IRS
has expanded the application of FATCA Form 8938 (Statement of Specified Foreign
Financial Assets) to U.S. businesses that are considered "Specified Domestic Entities". Given the high
FATCA penalties for Form 8938 noncompliance, U.S. business lawyers
should immediately examine whether the new requirement applies to their
clients.
This CLE is a unique opportunity to learn about this brand-new U.S. tax
requirement directly from an international tax atttorney. The CLE is
intended to provide not just an overview of the new Form 8938 requirements, but
also a useful practical checklist with respect to the definition of a "Specified
Domestic Entity".
