This session’s goal is to provide practitioners with a basic understanding of the evolution of the law regarding exempt property. In particular, the presenters will address how the field of practice has evolved since the Under The Rainbow decision. The presenters will also identify and discuss a number of present issues that many taxpayers face, including, the Review Board process, considerations to take into account for the upcoming application deadline, solving the problem of disparate treatment from various governmental entities, and understanding the proliferation of common fees/charges that are assessed against taxpayers.

The CLE is being co-sponsored by the Tax Law Section and the Real Property Law Section.
