Deadline to Register: Wednesday, October 21, 2015
If
you represent artists or creatives in Minnesota, this session is a must.
The session's goal is to provide practitioners with a basic
understanding of an area of tax law known as profit motive or hobby loss cases.
In particular, the presenters will focus on tax pitfalls specifically relating
to the unique legal standard that is applied to artists and creative taxpayers.
The presenters will also highlight recent case decisions and the taxing
authorities’ approach to auditing artists and creative taxpayers. Lastly, the
presenters will address how advancements in technology can assist artists and
creative taxpayers in establishing profit motive and avoid a hobby loss
determination.
