Bill Grant will provide a preview of the upcoming
legislative session and 2015 regulatory issues to watch from his vantage point
as Deputy Commissioner of Energy and Telecommunications for the Minnesota
Department of Commerce. In his role as Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Grant is
responsible for developing and managing programs and policies for Energy Planning and Advocacy, Energy Facility Permitting, the State Energy Office, Energy Assistance, Telecommunications, and the Broadband Development Office. Before joining the Department in February 2011, Mr. Grant served as associate executive director of the Izaak Walton League of America, a position he held since 1995.
Dan Wolf is the newly appointed Executive Secretary
of the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission, replacing Dr. Burl
Haar, who is retiring after 21 years in the position. Mr. Wolf joined the Public
Utilities Commission five years ago as the Assistant Executive Secretary
following a successful career on staff with the Minnesota Senate. The
Executive Secretary manages staff support to the five commissioners in addition
to coordinating agency-wide strategic planning and policy development,
legislative initiatives, fiscal operations and day-to-day operations of the
agency. Mr. Wolf will assume his new position on January 6, 2015.
