**PLEASE NOTE THAT
THIS CLE PROGRAM IS BEING HELD AT GRAY PLANT MOOTY.**
Now that the dust has
finally settled on 2013’s HIPAA omnibus rule, covered entities and business
associates are increasingly wondering about what’s coming next in the world of
health care privacy. While some of the statutory changes created under
HITECH have yet to be finalized, one thing is clear: both the Office for Civil
Rights and State Attorneys General will continue to aggressively pursue
violations of both the Privacy and Security Rules during the coming year.
A number of significant fines and settlement agreements were levied over the
past few years, and 2015 promises more of the same. Meanwhile, the next
round of HIPAA audits of both covered entities and business associates is slated
to resume in 2015. This session will include an In-depth discussion of a
number of key enforcement actions and significant settlement agreements.
Please join the Health Law Section for a discussion of HIPAA enforcement
highlights, developments and trends that are sure to be of interest in
2015.
Breakfast will
be available starting at 7:30 a.m., followed by the program from 8:00
- 9:00 a.m. Special meal requests need to be received no later than
Tuesday, February 10.
