The 2015 legislative
session will feature a new division of power, as Governor Dayton and the
DFL-controlled Senate will square off against a freshly minted Republican
majority in the House. The session promises to be interesting, as
legislators will need to tackle budgeting, but will do so in the context of a
surplus in the amount of $1.037 billion over 2015-16. Meanwhile, divisive
and complex health care issues are likely to have a prominent role when the
legislature reconvenes in January. Issues likely to come up include
modifications to provider reimbursement rates, changes to MNSure and the Medical
Assistance program, funding for MinnesotaCare and a host of issues in the area
of licensure and scope of practice.
This CLE discussion will help you stay
abreast of and respond knowledgeably to developments as they occur during the
session. Please join your Health Law Section colleagues for our annual
discussion of state health care related issues in the upcoming legislative
session.
