This
CLE will cover the recent United States Supreme Court POM Wonderful decision and
how it affects the Lanham Act and own brand labeling. The speakers will cover
commercial and consumer implications and provide a current overview of “natural
foods” litigation within the consumer law
context.
Lunch
will begin at Noon, followed by the CLE program from 12:15 p.m. - 1:15
p.m.

Presenters:
Sarah L. Brew,
Partner, Faegre Baker Daniels
Sarah
Brew leads the food litigation and regulatory practice group at Faegre. She has
a national reputation for effectively representing food processors, distributors
and retailers in a variety of disputes. She also counsels clients about labeling
and regulatory compliance matters involving the FDA and a variety of other
agencies. Ms. Brew writes and lectures nationally on a variety of food law and
litigation issues. She co-authored the Minnesota Practice treatise on Products
Liability Law. Ms. Brew is a member of the International Association for Food
Protection, the Food and Drug Law Institute, the American Bar Association's Food
& Dietary Supplements Subcommittee and other professional and trade
associations relating to the food
industry.
Melissa W. Wolchansky, Partner, Halunen &
Associates
Melissa focuses her practice on consumer class actions,
seeking to hold product manufacturers accountable for deceptive marketing
practices. She has experience in actions against several national brand
companies. She has also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Paul A.
Magnuson of the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota; a
law clerk to the Honorable Gary Larson, Judge of Hennepin County District Court;
and the Honorable Lucy A. Wieland, then Chief Judge of Hennepin County District
Court. Ms. Wolchansky has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Minnesota Super
Lawyers.
