Minnesota Unemployment Laws – What Every Employment Lawyer Should Know

Deadline to Register:  April 14th, 2014
 

This program will cover topics every employment lawyer should know including;

·         Prohibitions against an employee agreeing to waive unemployment rights and an employer agreeing not to contest unemployment claims

·         Key definitions – understanding “back pay,” “severance pay” and “wages,” and why these definitions matter when drafting severance and settlement agreements

·         Independent contractors – when are they eligible for unemployment benefits

·         Understanding the exceptions to ineligibility because of quit or discharge

Registration will begin at 11:30am.  The program will begin at 12:00pm.

This is a brown bag session.  Feel free to bring your own lunch.  Dessert and beverages will be provided.
