Please join us for the Eighth
Annual State of the Child Summit. This year’s Summit will explore how children with “invisible disabilities” such as Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder
and mental health disabilities, get evaluated or not and how
their disability affects what happens to them in the legal
system. Our speakers will be Dr. Susan Jenkins, Medical Director at Bluestem
Center for Child and Family Development, Ruth Richardson, Director of Programs and National
Strategic Initiatives for the Minnesota Organization on Fetal Alcohol
Syndrome (MOFAS), and Joanna Woolman, Executive Director of the Institute
for Children, Families and Communities at Mithcell|Hamline School of Law. We
will also discuss the different ethical issues that arise between the medical
system and legal system. A moderated panel discussion will follow the
presentations
.
