T-Shaped Lawyering: Exploring Successful Interdisciplinary Practice Models

Event Description

Deadline to Register: September 28, 2018

BROWN BAG LUNCH

So-called ‘T’-shaped professionals have a great depth of experience in one discipline (i.e., the law) and a more limited but important experience in a breadth of other disciplines (project management, technology, analytics…). In this session, we’ll explore how increased complexity of the law and economic pressures within the legal services industry is forging a demand for more t-shaped lawyers. We’ll review contemporary real-world examples, imagine a few hypotheticals, and review resources for effectively exploiting multi-disciplinary needs.

Speaker:

Mike Carlson, Attorney Editor, MSBA. Mike served 10 years at Thomson Reuters as a Reference Staff Attorney where he performed legal research, analyzed feedback, and provided trainings. Mike now serves the online services team at the Minnesota State Bar Association.
